Hi there! My name is Ernest and I’m currently a 2nd year undergradued in Geology at UB.
I've always been an inquisitive child. At growing up in the catalan countryside, I developed early on an interest in nature and a strong sense of responsibility towards it. Additionally, I was exposed to some extent to the world of geology, thanks to a relative who happened to be a fossil collector and amateur palentologist. Nonetheless, I never considered geosciences as a potential career until I was at the end of highschool, when I switched my plans from Biology to Geology.
My fields of interest within the subject include economic geology, mineralogy and ore formation, geochemistry, paleontology and paleoclimatology. With regard to my plans for the future, I hope I’ll be able to carry on studying and build a career in research and academia as well as work for the metal mining sector at some point.
Amongst my hobbies are hiking and mountain biking, birdwatching, aquarium keeping and reading. I’m keen on languages, traveling and music from the 70’s - 90’s.
